About SUBR
It all started with a passion, to artfully express a deep love of The United States of America and her founding principles...
Stand Up Be ReadTM, created by Nickie Summers, perpetuates the ideas of the Founding Fathers, American Exceptionalism, and the love of freedom.
Having a background in business and design, Nickie became inspired to direct her artistic talents towards message apparel and writing after witnessing the progressive indoctrination of America's children.
In the spring of 2010, Stand Up Be ReadTM launched its first message tee - Question with Boldness. Since then, Nickie and her team have launched a collection of artful designs that include Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Jefferson, Abigail Adams, and Alexander Hamilton.
Nickie's first children's book, "The 4th of July A Celebration of Independence," was released through AuthorHouse Publishing in September 2010. Her next book is due to be released fall 2011.
The Stand Up Be ReadTM team is a kaleidoscope of individuals who believe in the Constitution and the ideas of our Founding Fathers. There are many inspiring quotes and writings from the Founders, but the one that inspired the company brand,
Stand Up Be ReadTM, is from Alexander Hamilton -"Those who stand for nothing, fall for anything." Read history; know who you are, where you came from, and what you believe.
Nickie continues to be inspired by the wisdom of the Founding Fathers and how their words are still very relevant today. Her artful designs and story book writing evokes a sense of nostalgia as they convey positive messages that empower and act as a call to action to educate and rekindle the cycle of educating children on America's history and the US Constitution.
Born in Kansas and raised in Nevada, Nickie now resides outside of Atlanta, Georgia. In addition to managing two small businesses, Nickie writes commentary for Conservative Network Broadcasting and enjoys spending time with family and friends at community activities and events.
